Classes and Workshops

James Yates, Ph.D., leads Coactive Counseling classes and workshops that emphasize an experiential learning approach for gaining the awareness, knowledge and tools for taking a more active role in your personal growth and emotional healing. Participants learn facilitation skills such as how to observe, listen and make interventions grounded in the Gestalt approach. The classes and workshops are for non-professionals, mental health professionals and those in the helping professions. The following are offered in a class and workshop format:

Coactive Individual Counseling

Take part in a reciprocal relationship with a counseling partner, and take turns facilitating each other’s personal growth and emotional healing. This class/workshop is a learning laboratory for gaining coactive counseling skills while providing an opportunity to do your own personal growth work.

Coactive Group Counseling

This class/workshop is both a personal growth group and a learning laboratory to learn group dynamics and group facilitation. Coactive Group Counseling utilizes experiential techniques that work with the whole person and the dynamics of the group.
